The Congolese franc continues to depreciate and exacerbate food insecurity in the country. Individuals residing in Goma’s Kanyaruchinya IDP site face grave protection concerns, including forced recruitment into armed groups, gender-based violence, and sexual exploitation, according to relief actors. More than 164,000 people remain displaced and in urgent need of humanitarian assistance in Ituri Province due to ongoing CODECO–Zaire militia violence.
