ReliefWeb: Updates by Country 15.03.2024 19:10 Country: Democratic Republic of the Congo Source: European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Heavy rainfall has been affecting the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo , in particular the South Kivu Province, bordering with western Rwanda, since 11 March, triggering a landslide and causing floods and rivers overflow, particularly the Ruzizi River that have resulted in damage. Media report, as of 15 March, an unconfirmed number of affected people and dozens of damaged houses across the Bukavu City, eastern South Kivu Province mainly due to a huge landslide occurred on 11 March. Over the next 48 hours, more heavy rainfall with locally very heavy rainfall is forecast over eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and the neighbouring whole Rwanda and Burundi.
